As I type this entry there are protests en-mass in the Middle East with a ton of uncertainty where it will end. Nuclear reactors blowing up in Japan, tens of thousands of people still missing from the tsunami that was generated by the 9.0 earthquake off of the coast of Japan. People out buying Potassium Iodide in droves. Our public officials seem to be in somewhat of a fog as to what is really happening in either place, or if there is a clear and present danger to the people on the West Coast of the U.S. from radiation crossing the Pacific.
Crescent City, CA and other small coastal communities were devastated by the force of the tsunami that was generated by the Japan earthquake that hit our coast. You saw small tidbits of this damage on Fox and CNN. Shadowed by the enormity of the devastation in Japan, I can understand this. But it does make you raise an eyebrow as to the power of media control. What exactly do we know?
Meanwhile, we are all still faced with the challenges of our everyday activities or duties. Keeping abreast of the news is important to be able to take precautionary action, but to panic or fall into a sea of depression will do no good to you, your family or your friends. There are many good things that come from wild times. But you have to be aware of these events as they happen. People reach out in humanitarian missions, others donate, and then there are the simple acts of kindness that happen out of the kindness of humanity. The Japanese people have been showing huge acts of compassion during their crisis that comes from the human spirit when it is in severe crisis. There is no looting, riots or civil unrest. This is a huge example of how to “be” in the awakening of consciousness on this planet. We must stay away from the negativity that is so rampant in the world. Hats off to them for their composure and integrity and may they get many blessings.
Integrity is something that is not natural for some people. We must all become more Integral and focus on the consciousness of the planet. She is having some major pains herself, and it is up to us to surround her with more compassion, honesty and love.
Thanks James. Do you have suggestions for how we can all become more integral? I heard that there is a huge barter economy building in Japan right now. A whole human living exchange that has nothing to do with making a profit. Perhaps they are the “cutting edge” of a new way?
I can see the barter system coming back strong in the future for many countries, but the obvious fear and concern for the Japanese will be food contamination. We need to become more diverse in the way that we grow and protect our food sources. There was trace radiation found in New York during the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. There are some great designs for underground farming that are run with hydroponics. There are also plans for underground remediation parks that would work well for recycling ecologically. It will be interesting to see how things turn out in regard to food in Japan, but they are going to need global help. That will be the integral mindset for now.
I like your mention of the civil & soulful way the Japanese by & large are treating one another in the aftermath of disaster. I believe you are essentially saying that pursuit of personal integrity along with integrity in relationships will contribute significantly to resolving planetary wide problems. I agree. Peace can only begin with peace in one heart. Growth can only begin with a readiness for it as an individual. Put these energies in motion and solutions will flow. Flourishing begins with finding happiness!
